It is time for the 42nd annual New Balance 5th Avenue Mile in one of the most iconic backdrops anyone can take a run through. This race takes place specifically along the Museum Mile in Manhattan, New York. This is a race for the best mile time so you're going to want to be prompt on the start time because knowing these athletes, this race will be over before you know it. For the men's race, it has been nearly impossible to set this course record as Sydney Maree set the bar incredibly high at the inaugural mile in 1981 with a 3:47.52 time. Laura Muir made the Women's race very exciting last year as she set a new record in the competition with a 4.14.8 time breaking the previous record by more than a second. The United Kingdom has been dominating this mile ever since this race came back from COVID-19 in 2021.

On the men's side, Jake Wightman from the U.K. has won the last two races and three of the last four. He has come very close to breaking Maree's record with a 3:49.5 time in 2021 and a 3:49.6 final in 2022.
